I’ve upgraded my Ubuntu recently and i just leave all my old kernels in my machine. Long list of kernels in the GRUB list during boot up of course. :p Although you can use Ailurus to manage all these, i came across this quick method on how to remove all kernels except the current kernel in one go.

Open your terminal CTRL+ALT+T and paste this command:

dpkg -l ‘linux-*’ | sed ‘/^ii/!d;/’”$(uname -r | sed “s/\(.*\)-\([^0-9]\+\)/\1/”)”‘/d;s/^[^ ]* [^ ]* \([^ ]*\).*/\1/;/[0-9]/!d’ | xargs sudo apt-get -y purge

Wait until DONE.

Restart your machine and see your updated GRUB list. Clean!

I came across this standalone freeware. Very useful for those who are using home version of Operating System (Vista Home, XP Home) and also for those who want something light besides using the SQL Analyzer. I’ve been using it at my workplace for quite sometime and it does not require any installation.

And yes, the Query Express is a small (100KB executable), free, simple SQL Query Analyzer look alike. It can be run where the SQL Server client tools are not installed or licensed. It works for Oracle and other OLE-DB compliant databases too.

Just put it on your desktop and click!

Wah! After less than a year releasing Google Chrome browser, now the Google people is coming up with a new project – Google Chrome Operating System!

Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks. Later this year we will open-source its code, and netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010. Because we’re already talking to partners about the project, and we’ll soon be working with the open source community, we wanted to share our vision now so everyone understands what we are trying to achieve.

This is technology.  Second half of 2010, I can’t wait for this to happen.

I got this pos ekspress a day before Hari Raya, about 2 weeks ago. It was from ZULMALC !

A t-shirt?  Yes, it’s a Ubuntu T-Shirt which i ordered from melayubuntu. His blog is one of my favourites after Tombuntu, where I learned a lot about this distro, tips & tricks before I started to fall in love with Linux. Heh. I’m still new i must say, a 10-months old ubuntu user.
