Google, Wine, Codeweavers & Adobe Photoshop

Google CodeWoooot! Just another superb project from Google. They hired Codeweavers to make Photoshop CS and CS2 work better under Wine. A good news I must say for all Linux users as Google & Codeweavers are working hard to improve Wine for Adobe Photoshop in Unix platform. Yah as we know.. There are quite number of people who use β€œPhotoshop” as an excuse not to switch to Linux 100% (including myself) πŸ™‚ . I still prefer dual-boot because of this single reason.

What is Wine, anyway?

WineWine is an Open Source implementation of the Windows API on top of X, OpenGL, and Unix.Think of Wine as a compatibility layer for running Windows programs. Wine provides both a development toolkit for porting Windows source code to Unix as well as a program loader, allowing many unmodified Windows programs to run on x86-based Unixes, including Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS X, and Solaris.

Thanks Google for this Open Source project! Wooot!
