Google, Wine, Codeweavers & Adobe Photoshop

Woooot! Just another superb project from Google. They hired Codeweavers to make Photoshop CS and CS2 work better under Wine. A good news I must say for all Linux users as Google & Codeweavers are working hard to improve Wine for Adobe Photoshop in Unix platform. Yah as we know.. There are quite number of people who use “Photoshop” as an excuse not to switch to Linux 100% (including myself) . I still prefer dual-boot because of this single reason.

What is Wine, anyway?

Wine is an Open Source implementation of the Windows API on top of X, OpenGL, and Unix.Think of Wine as a compatibility layer for running Windows programs. Wine provides both a development toolkit for porting Windows source code to Unix as well as a program loader, allowing many unmodified Windows programs to run on x86-based Unixes, including Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS X, and Solaris.
